You can modify the settings of an individual VG, for example if certain settings only apply to a specific vehicle, directly from the device settings.

To view or edit the settings for an individual gateway:

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

From within Devices, select Devices > Gateways.

Locate the gateway from the list. To narrow the scope of the results, Search for the gateway or filter the options by Tags or Attributes.

On the device row, click the more actions menu ( ... ) > Settings.

To delete the vehicle, see Delete a Vehicle.
The available VG settings are dependent on accessory options installed and the features you have enabled for your fleet. The following table summarizes the settings you can view or edit for your gateway:

Name |
The name of the associated vehicle. When you first add a gateway, the Samsara dashboard identifies it by serial number. For ease of management and identification, use descriptive names for your gateways. |

Serial number associated with the gateway. This field is not editable. |
License Plate |
License plate of the paired vehicle. |
Tags |
Tags associated with the vehicle. |
Static Driver Assignment |
Driver assigned to the vehicle. |
Aux Input Type |
Auxiliary input usage of the connected device and the associated port number, 1 or 2. Examples include Privacy Buttons, Emergency Lights, and Weight Sensors. For more information, see Auxiliary Inputs for VGs and AGs. |
VIN |
Vehicle identification number (VIN) associated with the paired vehicle. |
Odometer |
Estimated miles or kilometers as calculated by GPS from the vehicle. You can only edit the value if the value is not provided by the vehicle engine control unit (ECU). For more information, see Manually Edit an Odometer Reading. |
Engine hours |
Engine hours reading from the vehicle. This value is typically supplied by the Engine Control Module (ECM) but can also display configurable Synthetic Engine Hours (SEH). SEHs provide a backup input to estimate engine hours for when engine hours can’t be read based on when the engine is running. |
Carrier Name Override |
Alternate carrier settings if different from your default settings. If these fields are blank, the default carrier settings apply. |

Audio Recording |
