Note
DVIR is the US name for Walkaround Inspection in the UK.
The Missing DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) is a scheduled report that enables you to track missed or incomplete DVIR events and coach your drivers to be more diligent about completing DVIRs. Each row in the report is a missed pre-trip or post-trip DVIR event.
Missing DVIR Reports take the last meaningful trip from the batch of close trips. A trip is considered meaningful when both of the following conditions are met:
-
The trip is longer than 5 minutes.
-
The trip is not a yard trip (or shorter than 1 mile in distance).
Note
Team drivers are not supported in this report, which means that Samsara does not account for any passenger drivers. The report is calculated using the first assigned driver on a trip.
For each report, Samsara displays the following information:
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Vehicle |
Vehicle or Gateway name |
Driver |
Driver that selected the vehicle on the trip |
Start Time |
Trip start time displayed as MM:DD:YYYY, HH:MM |
End Time |
Trip end time displayed as MM:DD:YYYY, HH:MM |
Type |
Either PRE-TRIP or POST-TRIP based on the DVIR requirement setting. |
Before you can schedule and receive Missing DVIR Reports, you must first enable the setting for the Samsara Driver App to require pre-trip or post-trip DVIRs. After you enable this setting, the Samsara Driver App adds a missed DVIR event to the Missing DVIR report for each pre-trip or post-trip DVIR that the driver doesn't complete. To enable this setting, perform the following workflow:
-
Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
From Fleet > Driver App > Features , locate DVIRs settings.
-
Locate the Missing DVIR Report setting and enable obligatory DVIRs:
-
Require pre-trip DVIRs: The Missing DVIR Report includes any trips that do not have a DVIR submitted within 4 hours before or 1 hour after the start of their trip.
The start of their trip is defined as the trip which has no other trips before it, for at least 10 hours (8 hours in Europe).
-
Require post-trip DVIRs: The Missing DVIR Report includes any trips that do not have a DVIR submitted within 4 hours after the end of their trip.
The end of their trip is defined as the trip that has no other trips after it, for at least 10 hours (8 hours in Europe).
-
To schedule a Missing DVIR Report, first Require Pre-trip and Post-trip DVIRs, then perform the workflow to Schedule a Report: and choose Missing DVIR Report for Report Name.
