Note
Using dual AI Multicam Hubs is supported in the US, Canada, Europe, and Mexico.
The Dual AI Multicam system gives you deeper, smarter visibility around your fleet vehicles by enabling up to 10 camera streams per vehicle using two Samsara AI Multicam Hubs. Designed for industries that rely on extensive camera coverage—like passenger transit, waste management, and urban logistics—this helps boost safety, operational clarity, and service verification in complex environments.
With dual AI Multicam Hubs connected to a single vehicle gateway (VG), your team can capture a full 360-degree view with AI-powered detections.
To use this solution, you’ll need:
-
LIC-CM-AIM8 license
-
Vehicle Gateway
-
Two Samsara AI Multicam Hubs per vehicle
-
Two CBL-MC-AIM4 power cable harnesses
-
Enable dual AI Multicam Hub configuration in your vehicle settings.
-
Go the Overview > Assets page, and locate the vehicle for which you want to enable a dual hub configuration.
-
Select the more actions ( ••• ) menu in the row for the vehicle and select Settings.
-
Enable Allow two AIM4s on this vehicle in the Dual Multi Camera Install Configuration.
You can also Edit Gateways in Bulk to apply the configuration to multiple vehicles.
-
-
Assign Primary and Secondary camera roles in the Multi Camera Configuration of the vehicle settings. This ensures footage is correctly labeled and retrieved.
By default, Primary Port 1 is assigned to the left side, and Primary Port 2 to the right.
Adjust port roles before installing AI Multicam Hubs. After installation, port changes must be made per vehicle.
-
Proceed to install the AI Multicam Hubs per the AI Multicam Hub Installation Guide.
The Samsara MN11 monitor can display feeds from a single Samsara AI Multicam Hub.
Once the dual hubs are installed:
-
All safety events will automatically include footage from both Samsara AI Multicam Hubs.
-
You can stream up to 10 camera views per vehicle, across two Samsara AI Multicam Hubs.
-
You can retrieve up to 10 video streams in a single request, with synchronized storage durations across both devices.
