The Samsara AI Multicam 2-Day Trial Kit supports fast, non-invasive installations of Samsara Multicam and 360VIS hardware. Use this guide to temporarily install cameras and monitor hardware for fleet trials without permanent wiring.
The Samsara AI Multicam Trial Kit includes all the necessary components to perform a temporary, non-invasive installation of Samsara AI Multicam and 360VIS systems. Each item in the kit is designed for easy setup, making it ideal for trial deployments without permanent wiring.

Plug-and-play AIM4 cable: Core connection cable for camera power and video transmission.

Power cable options: Includes both a cigarette lighter adapter and a fuse tap adapter with DC barrel jack, allowing flexible temporary power setup.

Monitor suction cup mount: Adjustable suction mount for attaching the monitor to the windshield or dashboard without hardware tools.

Camera adhesive mounts: Includes VHB adhesive pads for securing side and rear cameras to the vehicle exterior.

Rear camera mounting plate: A reinforced bracket mount for heavier rear cameras like the HW-MC31.
Use this method for quick, non-permanent power. Note that power will only be active while the vehicle is running.

Plug the DC barrel jack into the AIM4 cable.

Insert the cigarette lighter adapter into the vehicle's power outlet.
Note
This method does not support video retrieval while the vehicle is off. Parking mode is unavailable.
Use the fuse tap cable to connect the AIM4 system to an always-on fuse in the vehicle.

Route the fuse tap cable to the vehicle’s fuse box.

Attach the ring terminal to a grounded screw or bolt.

Use the vehicle manual to identify an always-on battery fuse.

Remove the original fuse and insert it into the bottom slot of the fuse tap.

Plug the fuse tap into the original fuse location.

Connect the AIM4 cable to the barrel jack.
Use this method to temporarily mount side cameras using VHB adhesive pads.
Note
VHB should be applied in temperatures above 60ºF (15.5ºC). Once set, the adhesive remains secure down to -40ºC.

Remove the rubber bottom grommet from the HW-MC21 camera.

Clean the bracket surface with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply the VHB pad to the bracket and press firmly.

Clean the vehicle surface with isopropyl alcohol.

Remove the adhesive liner and press the bracket to the surface for at least 30 seconds.

Aim the camera and route the cable into the vehicle.
Use this process to install heavier rear cameras, such as the HW-MC31.
Note
VHB should be applied in temperatures above 60ºF (15.5ºC). Once set, the adhesive remains secure down to -40ºC.

Remove the button head screws from the adhesive mount.

Attach the MC31 bracket using the included screws.

Clean the vehicle surface with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply the adhesive mount to the surface and press for 30 seconds.

Attach the rear camera to the bracket using screws from the MC31 box.

Aim the camera and route the cable into the vehicle.
Use this method to mount the monitor temporarily using the included suction cup base.

Loosen and remove the T-nut that comes pre-installed on the ball mount. The kit provides a second, loose T-nut; install this loose T-nut in place of the pre-installed one.

Slide the T-nut into the track on the back of the monitor.

Tighten the ball mount snugly.

Clean the surface where the suction cup will be applied.

Set the suction cup to the “off” position.

Press the suction cup firmly to the surface.

Switch the suction cup to the “on” position.

Adjust the monitor arm to your preferred angle.

This hardware and any associated software may not be compatible with third party products and/or services and may interfere with the operations of or void warranties for such third party products and/or services.
Do not install or adjust hardware while driving or operating the vehicle. Do not install this hardware in a location that could interfere with the driver’s visibility or operation of vehicle controls. Do not install this hardware on or near airbag panels or within the working range of an airbag. Do not install hardware while the vehicle is unsecured. Do not install hardware while the vehicle is turned on unless instructed to turn on the vehicle by the installation guide.
Please always pay attention to your surroundings and drive safely, comply with all traffic laws, and observe the road and driving conditions at all times. Do not rely on the product to alert the driver of safety hazards or to prevent collisions. The hardware and associated software may not work as intended depending on road conditions, other vehicles, weather, and other factors.
Failure to follow mounting instructions may create risk of physical injury or property damage from falling objects. If mounting the hardware to a building wall, check for wiring or plumbing before drilling any holes.
