From the Samsara dashboard, you can adjust the orientation of camera streams connected to an AI Multicam Hub directly from the dashboard. This feature enables you to flip images horizontally or vertically without physically repositioning the camera, which is useful when installations result in inverted or mirrored views.
To use this feature, you must have a Full Admin role or a custom role with the following permissions:
-
Safety > Camera Health: Required to access the Devices > Cameras page.
-
Safety > Dash Cam Installation: Required to retrieve on-demand stills (Capture Stills/Take a Picture).
-
Cameras > View: Required to view on-demand stills (Capture Stills/Take a Picture).
-
Essentials > Gateways > View and Edit: Required to edit and save flip/mirror settings.
To flip or mirror any camera stream connected to an AI Multicam Hub:
-
Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
Click the Devices tab, then select the Camera section.
-
Find the camera you want to adjust.
Only cameras that display AIM4 or AHD1 in the Camera field can be adjusted.
-
Click the more actions ( ••• ) menu next to the device name.
-
Select Configure Camera.
Note
If the Configure Camera menu option does not display, ensure the AI Multicam Hub is linked to a Vehicle Gateway (VG).
-
-
Click Capture Stills next to the Camera Stream View.
-
Adjust the camera orientation by selecting Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical.
-
Click Save.
Note
It may take a few minutes for the changes to apply. After saving, capture a new still to confirm the updated orientation.
Tip
If you don’t see the updated image immediately, refresh the dashboard and try again after 2–3 minutes.
