To test the activation of the Engine Immobilizer, you can disable and re-enable a vehicle in your fleet from the Samsara dashboard.

Start the vehicle’s engine to confirm it turns on successfully, then turn the engine off.

With the engine off, navigate to Overview in the Samsara dashboard.

Select the vehicle you want to test from your fleet.

Within the Immobilizer vehicle settings, Disable the appropriate relay.

Attempt to start the engine of your vehicle.
If the immobilizer is functioning, the vehicle will not start.

After the test, you can return to the Samsara dashboard and Enable the relay to function normally.
Note
The Engine Immobilizer can only be enabled or disabled through the Samsara dashboard and can take up to 30 seconds for the device to receive the request. When you enable or disable the immobilizer, you might hear a click from the device, indicating the relay is switching on or off.
