HW-CL11
The Wireless Link receiver (HW-CL11) mounts in the vehicle and pairs with the Wireless Link transmitter (HW-CL12) so you can bring a rear AHD camera view to the in-cab monitor without running a long GX-12 cable the full distance between the camera and the cab. After power line communication (PLC) pairing on a shared power path, the receiver accepts the wireless video from the transmitter and passes it to the AI Multicam Hub or HD Camera Connector for display. The receiver is not powered by the AI Multicam Hub and needs a separate power connection on the same power domain as the transmitter. On a tractor-trailer install, that shared path is typically the trailer ABS circuit. When installed on a trailer, Wireless Link is intended for single trailers only.
Use this guide to install the receiver, connect power and video, and validate the link before you permanently mount the unit. Install the first receiver and transmitter together so you can confirm PLC pairing before you roll out additional installs. Pairing cannot be confirmed until both units are installed and share the same power domain for PLC. For transmitter install steps, see Wireless Link Transmitter Installation Guide. Gather the following Samsara hardware, tools, and consumables before you install the receiver.

Complete these prerequisites before you select and wire a power source.

Identify the AI Multicam Hub or HD Camera Connector install location.
When the hub or connector is not installed, complete that install in parallel with the receiver work. See the AI Multicam Hub Installation Guide or Third-Party Camera Integration Using the HD Samsara Camera Connector.

Gather the receiver hardware, power harness, GX-12 cable, tools, and consumables listed in What You'll Need.

Identify the receiver power source using the order in Choose a Receiver Power Source, then confirm voltage and ignition behavior with a multimeter.
After you wire power, validate that the source enables PLC pairing with the transmitter. Complete Confirm Wireless Link Pairing.
Evaluate receiver power sources in this order. Use a multimeter to confirm that the selected source is 12 V, cycles with ignition (unless you need parking-mode constant power), and shares the trailer ABS power path so PLC can reach the transmitter.

Note
When the camera must stay active during parking mode, wire to a constant power source that does not cycle with ignition, while still keeping the receiver on the same side of any PLC filter as the transmitter.
When earlier power options fail to create a link pair, some tractors include a filter between battery power and the 7-way. Power the receiver from the 7-way side of that filter, or from the side connected to the tractor ABS ECU, so both units share the same power domain. Use this option first when CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR is available for the vehicle.

Remove the center console dashboard panel to expose the RP1226 connector.

Connect CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR to the vehicle RP1226 connector.

Connect the CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR ignition wire (yellow) to the CBL-CL-APWR power wire (red), and connect the CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR ground wire (black) to the CBL-CL-APWR ground wire (black).
On a net-new install, the red lead on CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR may also connect to the AI Multicam Hub. On a retrofit install, terminate any unused free end (electrical tape or a crimped, heat-shrunk butt splice) so it cannot short.

Proceed to Mount the Receiver and Connect Video.
Use this option when the vehicle has an RP1226 connector but you are not using CBL-MC-RP1226-PWR.

Remove the center console dashboard panel to expose the RP1226 connector.

Identify the ignition wire (yellow) and ground wire (black), then splice into or tap both wires with positaps.
If you use positaps, use them only inside the cab.

Connect the black ground wire on CBL-CL-APWR to the vehicle ground (black) connection, and connect the red power wire on CBL-CL-APWR to the ignition (yellow) connection.

Proceed to Mount the Receiver and Connect Video.
Use this option when RP1226 power is unavailable or does not support PLC pairing.

Access the fuse panel by removing the dashboard panel in front of the right passenger seat.

Use a fuse tap to access the ABS trailer power ignition fuse.
When the fuse box is too crowded for the fuse tap, use a fuse tap extension to reach the fuse box, then connect the fuse tap to the extension.

Connect the fuse tap power wire (red) to the CBL-CL-APWR power wire (red), and connect the CBL-CL-APWR ground wire (black) to ground.

Proceed to Mount the Receiver and Connect Video.
Use this option when earlier power sources do not establish a PLC link, including vehicles with a filter between battery power and the 7-way.

Identify the ABS ECU under the dashboard or elsewhere on the vehicle.
-
Identify the truck-to-trailer ABS harness.
-
Connect the CBL-CL-APWR red wire (power) to the 12 V ABS power wire, and connect the CBL-CL-APWR black wire (ground) to vehicle ground.
When this connection is outside the cab, use a weatherproof installation method. Do not use positaps outside the cab.

Proceed to Mount the Receiver and Connect Video.
After you select and wire a power source, connect the receiver, validate the link, and mount the unit.

Screw the antenna onto the receiver.
Hand-tighten the antenna only. Do not use a wrench or other tools.

Connect CBL-CL-APWR to the mating 2-pin power connector on the receiver.

Connect the GX-12 cable from the receiver to the AI Multicam Hub.
When you need a longer run, use CBL-MC-GX5, CBL-MC-GX10, or CBL-MC-GX15. Port 3 on the AI Multicam Hub is for the rear camera. Port 4 is for another view.

Identify a mounting location for the receiver within 6.5 ft (2 m) of the power source.
Test power and the transmitter-receiver link before you permanently mount the receiver. Complete Confirm Wireless Link Pairing. When the link fails, see Troubleshoot the Wireless Link.

Mount the receiver using the supplied screws, cable ties, or VHB adhesive.
Confirm the receiver and cables do not obstruct pedals, steering linkage, driver visibility, or airbag panels.

Confirm the rear camera view on the in-cab monitor.

Do not install hardware while the vehicle is unsecured or while the vehicle is turned on unless instructed to turn on the vehicle by the installation guide. Do not install or adjust hardware while driving or operating the vehicle. Do not install this hardware in a location that could interfere with the driver's visibility, operation of vehicle controls, or on or near airbag panels or within the working range of an airbag.
Do not install this hardware on or near flammable or otherwise hazardous materials. This hardware may burst if placed near flammable or other hazardous materials, creating a risk of fire, burn, shock, or other serious injury. This product includes capacitors, which may present a potential fire, explosion, electric shock, or burn hazard. Do not touch any capacitors within this hardware. Hardware may sustain water damage if the seal is damaged. Do not use if the seal appears damaged.
Please always pay attention to your surroundings and drive safely, comply with all traffic laws, and observe the road and driving conditions at all times. Do not rely on the product to alert the driver of safety hazards or to prevent collisions. The hardware and associated software may not work as intended depending on road conditions, other vehicles, weather, and other factors.
Keep this hardware between -22°F and 167°F (-30°C and 75°C). Failure to keep this hardware in the specified temperature range may result in safety risks.
If applicable, for vehicles manufactured beginning in late 2019, RP1226 cables/ports should be used (rather than J1939 cables/ports) for all third-party telematics devices.
