From Samsara, you can view and edit general, feature, and workflow settings for the Samsara Driver App. To customize the settings for drivers in your fleet, go to Settings ( ) > Fleet > Driver App.
General
Customize the Driver App settings that effect the navigation and content of the app, such as vehicle or trailer selection options and driver gamification.

Org vehicle search |
By default, drivers are limited to vehicles within their selection tag when connected to the internet. Enable this feature to allow drivers to search for vehicles outside their selection tag. |
Restrict vehicle selection based on location |
Note: Contact Support to enable this feature Encourages drivers to select nearby vehicles by suggesting vehicles within their proximity. You can customize the proximity to a 20, 100, or 500 meter radius. |
Trailer Selection |
Allows drivers to view and select trailers. After you enable this feature, you can customize the options available to the driver for trailer selection, such as allowing the driver to create or search for trailers or limiting the number of trailers the driver can select. |
Driver Gamification |
Creates a leaderboard visible to your drivers which allows them to see how they rank against their peers in safety performance. After this setting is enabled, you can customize drivers into peer groups and elect to anonymize driver names. For more information, see Gamification of Driver Safety Scores. |

Enable features of the Driver App, such as Hours of Service (HoS), driver routes, and trip inspection reports.

Hours of Service |
Required for ELD compliance. Drivers can update their driving status and edit their logs. For more information on setting up HOS for your fleet, see Setting Up HOS with Samsara. |
DVIRs |
Allows drivers to submit trip inspections for vehicles and trailers. Customize document submissions but requiring additional details such as comments on defects and walkaround photos. For more information, visit Compliance & DVIR Settings. |
Routes |
Pre-configured routes can be assigned to drivers to complete. You can also create routes in the dashboard and leave them unassigned. By enabling Driver Selection of Unassigned Routes, drivers can select their own route assignments in the Driver App. Fleets will follow pre-configured routes and automatically complete stops when the GPS tracks departure or arrival. With Driver Manual Completion enabled, drivers can manually complete route stops by selecting a date and time for arrival and departure. |
Documents |
Create templates for drivers to submit documents. A document can include photos and text that your drivers can enter into their app for a variety of different reasons. For in app driver use of this feature, see Submitting Document in Driver App. |
Messaging |
Send and receive messages from drivers and modify notification options. For in app driver use of this features, see Driver Messaging from the Samsara Driver App. |
Team Driving |
Enable a driving team of two or more to manage their hours of service from one device. |
Workflows
Create a customizable set of tasks for drivers to complete in the Samsara Driver App upon sign-in or when they arrive at a route stop. See Route Stop Workflows for more information.
