Samsara provides both administrator-configurable and driver-managed settings that shape the Samsara Driver App experience:

Driver-managed settings are configured directly on the driver’s mobile device:

App-based location reporting: Reports the location of nearby Samsara devices that use Bluetooth—such as Asset Tags (AT11, AT11X) and unpowered Asset Gateways (AG51)—using the phone’s GPS when Bluetooth and location permissions are granted.

Device-level app settings: Include options for theme, language, notification preferences, background refresh, and app version. Drivers can also configure personal HOS display preferences, such as duty cycle and split sleeper options, where applicable.

Administrator-configurable settings are managed in the Samsara dashboard and determine how drivers interact with the Samsara Driver App (Settings (
) > Fleet > Driver App):

General: Settings for asset view, vehicle and trailer selection behavior, and driver login options.

Features: Controls for in-app functionality such as driver messaging, the map, Hours of Service, and document submission.

Workflows: Structured task flows that prompt drivers to complete required actions during sign-in or at route stops.

Home Screens: Customizable Samsara Driver App home screens that can be tailored for different driver and worker types.

From General driver app settings, you can edit driver login information and customize the vehicle and trailer selection options for your drivers.

Customize the options available to the driver for trailer selection, such as enabling the driver to create or search for trailers or limiting the number of trailers the driver can select. Map |
Enables drivers to view vehicle and asset locations on the Samsara Driver App map. Use the Vehicle Selection and Map Tag and the Additional Asset Selection and Map Tag to restrict view access and selection for specific assets in the Driver Profile Settings. To allow drivers to select a trailer in the Samsara Driver App, ensure that the Driver App Trailer Selection setting is enabled. Create a customizable set of tasks for drivers to complete in the Samsara Driver App upon sign-in or when they arrive at a route stop. For more information about driver workflows, see Create a Driver App Workflow.
Three pre-built home screen templates are available in the dashboard for regulated drivers, non-regulated drivers, and general workers. You can assign these templates to groups of drivers or use them as a starting point for custom configurations. After a template is assigned, the Samsara Driver App displays only the modules relevant to that driver role.

how do i calibrate assets
The trip log feature states “Enable drivers to their completed trip history.” This doesn't make sense.
