When you install an AT on an asset, you can view and update the associated asset information from your Samsara dashboard.
The following table summarizes the settings you can view and edit for your asset tag and its associated asset. To edit these settings, see Edit Settings for an Individual AT.

Name |
The name of the associated asset. When you first add an AT, the Samsara dashboard identifies it by serial number. For ease of management and identification, use descriptive names for your assets. |

Gateway |
Serial number associated with the AT. This field is not editable. |

License Plate |
(Optional) License plate of the paired asset. |

Tags & Attributes |
Tags or attributes associated with the asset. |

Asset Serial Number |
Serial number associated with the asset. |

VIN |
(Optional) Asset Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) associated with the AT. If the value is detected and located in the US public database, the asset make, model, and year will display on the asset details. |

Notes you want to capture about the asset or tag. |
To view or edit the settings for an individual Asset Tag:

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

From within Devices, select Devices > Gateways.

Locate the AT from the list. To narrow the scope of the results, Search for the AT or filter the options by Tags or Attributes.

On the device row, click the more actions ( ••• ) menu > Settings.

Edit the device settings and Save to confirm the changes.
