During a trip, each dash cam uploads a trip image every two minutes to the Trip Timeline. You can view images for each trip using the Trip Timeline to review safety events from the Safety Inbox and to coach or reward driving behaviors. The Trip Timeline contains a map summary of the trip and the trip images, including trip metadata (beginning and endpoint data), assigned driver, and the vehicle ID. Trip images and video include completed video retrievals, either from a trip or from a time when the camera was recording but the vehicle was not on a trip.

For vehicles equipped with multiple cameras (multicams), the Trip Timeline integrates all cameras into a single view.

If a video is currently available for a thumbnail, the thumbnail displays a color-coded indicator below the video still.

The indicators have the following meanings:
-
Gray: Video request retrieval complete.
-
Red: Video available from harsh event detection.
To view trip images and video, use the following workflow:
-
From Safety (
), select Cameras.
-
Click the dash cam image from the Cameras report to view the trip images. You can also search for devices or locate the dash cam by tags assigned to the camera or by Vehicle Status (Offline, Online, or Idling).
If the dash cam is on a current trip, the individual Camera report displays both the Current trip and Past trips.
-
Select the trip from the list to view the Trip Timeline.
-
For completed trips, you can select Retrieve Video below the trip map to view the video footage or View Safety Event to review the footage from a safety event detection.
Video retrieval is not available for in-progress trips. For more information on trip video requests, see Video Retrieval.
-
For vehicles equipped with multi-cams, select the multi-cam thumbnail or video to rotate the orientation of the image or to give individual cameras a name. To change the camera name, select edit (
).
New and unnamed cameras are automatically assigned a default 4-digit number.
