By default, Trip images are uploaded to the vehicle Trip History and Trip Timeline at the start and end of every trip. For full visibility into the driving habits of your fleet and further enforce or reward good driving habits, you can also enable inward-facing trip images.
Note
The dash cam will continue to record regardless of whether the trip images setting is enabled or disabled. To understand when the dash cam is expected to record, see Dash Cam Recording Logic for Video and Images.
For privacy concerns, inward-facing trip images for dual-facing cameras are disabled by default. After you enable driver-facing images, inward-facing trip images display at the beginning and end of in progress trips. If Periodic Trip Images is also enabled, the dash cam uploads both a road-facing and driver-facing still image every few minutes.
To enable inward-facing trip images, perform the following workflow:
-
Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
From the Devices settings, select Configuration > Cameras.
-
From Trip Images settings, enable Driver-Facing Trip Images.
-
To review images for vehicles that are currently on a trip, you can request a trip snapshot from the Camera Function Report. To request footage from a prior trip, see Video Retrieval.
