Speeding is a key safety metric because it is a risky behavior that increases the likelihood of injury and damage to the driver, surrounding passengers, and vehicles.
As an administrator, Speeding Reports helps you identify instances of speeding, coach drivers on speeding, maintain accurate speed limit data, and tailor speeding definitions and enforceability to the needs of your organization.
How it works
Speeding Reports are available at multiple levels of granularity, including the following (in order of most to least granular):
-
Trip-Level Speeding Report
-
Driver and Vehicle Speeding Summary
-
Org-wide Speeding Summary
Trip-Level Speeding Report
The trip-level speeding report allows you to see driver speeding behavior in the most granular detail. You will see the following components on the trip-level report:
-
Speeding summary: Detailed time and total time (as a % of the trip) broken out by severity.
-
Trip map: Includes trip path color-coded by speeding severity.
-
Trip details: Displays starting (A) and ending (B) points and times, driver name, vehicle name, and trip duration.
-
Speeding graph: Displays speed over duration of trip, color-coded by severity.
-
Table of speeding incidents: Rows are aggregated by severity threshold in chronological order.

You will see the following components on the Driver and Vehicle Safety pages:
-
Safety Score summary: Includes the driver or vehicle’s safety score, broken out with the two components of the score – harsh driving and speeding.
-
Fleet Trends: The speeding tab shows granular speeding data by severity by week over the last 8 weeks. Speeding trends do not filter by the specified date range. Speeding is expressed in units of minutes and shown as percentage of total drive time.
-
Speeding summary: Detailed time and total time (as a % of the trip) broken out by severity, filtered by the specified date range.
