The Samsara Vehicle Gateway (VG) is designed to surface events that exceed the g-force threshold during Harsh Event Detection. You can run event reports of a maximum duration up to one year. Use these reports to investigate the details of a singular harsh event or events for your fleet as a whole:
-
Fleet Harsh Event Reports: Reports that display the harsh driving events for your entire fleet. Review a summary of your fleet Risk Factors, Harsh Driving events, and the Harsh Driving Report directly from the Safety Overview (for more information, see the Safety Overview and Safety Risk Factor Reports).
The following table describes the Risk Factor report fields displayed for each risk factor category:

Risk Factor
Category of the safety event or behavior.
Count
Number of events that occurred during the selected time frame.
Rate or %
Frequency of behaviors during drive time. This value is expressed as either a percentage of drive time or as a number of events per 1,000 miles (mi) / kilometers (k/m), dependent on risk factor category.
Score Impact
Affect to the safety score in points (pts).
To see additional information on a risk factor category, click View Details to open a report with further insights. For example, click the risk factor Harsh Driving to view the Harsh Driving Report.
