Event statuses define how events progress through review, coaching, and recognition workflows in the Safety Inbox. Each status represents an action taken by a coach or driver and determines whether the event continues to affect the Safety Score, remains visible in the active inbox, and which Safety Inbox tab it displays in.
Note
Frequently assigning events, such as auto-detected Rolling Stops, with a Dismissed status does not immediately affect the behavior of the AI Dash Cam system; however, this feedback is used to improve our AI algorithms over time.
Actions in the Safety Inbox—such as selecting Needs Review, Reviewed, Coached, or Dismissed—set an event’s status and determine how it’s scored. The following table defines each event status and its impact on scoring:
Status |
Purpose and Behavior |
Included in Safety Score |
|---|---|---|
Needs Review |
Default status for new events in the Safety Inbox. Can also be manually selected to reopen an event for re-evaluation. Selecting Needs Review re-enters a completed or dismissed event into the triage flow. |
Reviewed |
Confirms that the event was correctly identified but does not require driver follow-up. Selecting Reviewed closes the event and bypasses both coaching workflows. |
Needs Coaching |
Flags an event that requires follow-up with the driver through a coaching session. Selecting this status adds the event to the Coaching queue for review and completion. |
Coached |
Indicates that the driver has completed a coaching session or acknowledged the behavior. This status can be applied in the following ways:
Needs Recognition |
Flags an event that demonstrates safe or defensive driving for recognition with the driver. Events marked with this status positively affect the Safety Score to reflect safe driving behavior. |
Recognized |
Confirms that the driver has received recognition for a safe or positive driving event. Events with this status positively affect the Safety Score to reflect safe driving behavior. |
Dismissed |
Indicates that the event was invalid or the driver was not at fault. Selecting Dismissed removes the event from the active Safety Inbox and moves it to the Dismissed tab. When prompted, a coach can select or enter a dismissal reason, such as Incorrect Detection or Minor Event. If configured in the Safety Settings, the dismissal reason may be required before the event can be dismissed. |
