The driver detail page (Overview > Driver > Driver Name) provides a centralized view of driver data within the Samsara dashboard. It includes a driver summary and dedicated tabs for driver Performance, Live View, and Details. This gives fleet managers and operations teams an efficient way to access and manage driver insights.
Below the driver header, you can see the driver performance. This page highlights key driving performance statistics as tiles. Tiles only appear when relevant data or events are available.

Insights: Summarizes driver performance over the selected time period, highlighting notable patterns, comparative rankings, and areas that may require attention.

Efficiency: Displays a score reflecting how efficiently the driver is operating the vehicle. Trends are shown over time, with percentage changes highlighting improvements or declines. You can also click this tile to jump to the Driver Efficiency Report to see more details.

Driver Safety: Tracks the driver’s safety score, including changes across days or weeks. This card emphasizes unsafe behaviors and their impact on the overall safety rating. You can also click this tile to View the Safety Report for a driver or vehicle to see more details.

Coaching: Shows whether coaching sessions are scheduled or needed for the driver, based on recent behaviors or flagged risks. Click on any events that require coaching to begin a coaching session. If no sessions are scheduled, the tile confirms that status.

Safety Events: Lists recorded safety events, such as harsh braking, collisions, or other notable incidents. Click on any events that need review to review the event details.

Safety Risks: Breaks down risky driving behaviors into categories such as speeding, traffic signal violations, and distracted driving. Each metric includes time spent or event counts, with percentage changes noted. For additional details, see the Safety Risk Factor Reports.

Achievements: Highlights streaks and milestones earned by the driver, such as consecutive safe days or other accomplishments. If none are reached, the card states

The Live View tab displays real-time driver location and status including Activity History and Map (past 24 hours), route status, plus quick links to Hours of Service and Driver Activity Reports.
From this page, you can also perform the following actions:

Driver messages: Click the
icon to send a message to the driver through the Samsara Driver App.

Request check-in: (Available for customers participating in the Worker Safety beta) In situations where driver safety is a concern, you can request that the driver check in using the Samsara Driver App. The driver can respond with a quick or Send SOS and notify administrators. You can monitor the status of the request from the driver Activity area. For more information about worker safety features, see the Worker Safety Beta.
The driver summary header provides basic information about a driver. In the driver summary, you can see the driver profile image, if defined in the driver profile, associated tags and assigned vehicle. You can also view details about the Samsara Driver App that the user is logged into including the app version, device operating system, and the username.
To view additional details associated with the driver profile, click the Details tab.

Settings: View all driver Information (name, phone, license number, and issuing state), Compliance (ELD start hour), Login Details (fleet ID and username), Terminal & Carrier Information (home terminal address and timezone), and an Advanced area (Driver ID token status). To modify any of the driver details, click Edit Settings.

Records: View driver records such as Licenses, Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Documents, and Citations. Here you can also manage qualifications (beta) and Add new qualifications.
