If you are unable to sign in to the Samsara dashboard at cloud.samsara.com or the cloud URL assigned to your organization (such as cloud.ca.samsara.com or cloud.eu.samsara.com), the issue typically falls into one of two categories: the verification code is not sending to your email, or you have an invalid email. If this is your first time signing in to the Samsara dashboard, you may need to accept an email invitation from your administrator, see Access Your New Samsara Dashboard Account, otherwise select a topic to confirm the root cause and regain access:
Note
Email verification codes expire after 10 minutes.
If your verification code is not sending to your email, follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue:
-
Search all of your email folders, including spam or junk folders, for messages from noreply@samsara.com with the subject line
Your Verification Code.If you still don't see the email, try using the search bar of your email provider to look for:
-
noreply@samsara.com
-
Your Verification Code
Tip
When you locate the email, mark the email as not spam to ensure future OTPs are delivered to your inbox.
-
-
Confirm that messages from noreply@samsara.com are not getting suppressed or blocked by your email filters.
As an alternative, if you previously added and verified your phone number in your profile, you can also opt to receive verification codes through SMS instead of email. For more information, after you are able to sign back in, see Add SMS OTP as an MFA Option in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
If you use single sign-on (SSO) and attempt to sign in to the Samsara dashboard, you may receive the error: Your identity provider sent an invalid email address. Please check your IdP attribute mapping configuration or contact your administrator.
An invalid email error occurs during an attempted sign in if there is a configuration error in your attributes and claims in SSO. You're either sending an empty string for the email or a value that isn't an email. This usually means there is more than one issue with claim configurations.
If you need to reset your password, visit the password reset page, enter your email address, and follow the instructions in the email you receive.
If you did not receive an email for the password reset:
-
First, check to see whether the password reset email was filed to your spam folder.
-
If the email was not in your spam or junk folder, contact an administrator in your organization that has access to Samsara. Full Admins can ensure that you have the correct role and are using the correct email. To receive an invitation to the dashboard, your organization administrator must invite a new administrator.
When your fleet administrator creates an account for you, you are sent an email with an invitation to the Samsara dashboard. You must accept the invitation before you can sign in and personalize your account.
To access your new Samsara account and the dashboard for the first time, perform the following workflow:
-
Locate the invitation email with the subject headline
Welcome to Samsara.Your invitation link is unique to your email address and will expire in 24 hours.
Note
If you do not see an email invitation, search any folders outside of your inbox where the email might be hiding (subject is
Welcome to Samsara). If you still don't find the invitation, contact the fleet administrator in your organization who created your account to verify the email address, and to ensure you have been invited to the Samsara dashboard. -
Select Create Your Account.
This will prompt you to complete the creation of your new Samsara user account.
-
Complete the setup process by defining your account details.
-
The next time you sign in to the dashboard at the regional Samsara cloud URL assigned to your organization (such as cloud.samsara.com, cloud.ca.samsara.com, or cloud.eu.samsara.com), enter the username and password you created during sign-up.
