Addresses represent locations of interest and include customizable geofences. These geofences support operational visibility through location-based reporting, tagging, geofence alerts, and camera behavior settings.
Configure a single address—for example, to customize geofence boundaries or apply site-specific camera settings—or add or edit multiple addresses in bulk to streamline updates across many locations.
To create a new address with reporting, safety, and visibility settings tailored to a specific site:
-
Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
Select Addresses/Geofences.
-
Select + Add Address.
-
Enter the Name for the location.
-
(Optional) To display the exact address instead of the descriptive name in Fleet Overview and reports, enable Show exact address instead of address name when assets are within this geofence in Overview, Trip History, Activity, Start/Stop Reports.
In reports, you can hover over the address to view the descriptive name.
The Fleet Overview displays both the descriptive name and the exact address.
-
Enter the Address for the location.
Addresses can be a street address (e.g., 123 Real St, Springfield) or coordinates in decimal format (e.g., 37.818440,-122.478441). Separate latitude and longitude with a comma and no spaces.
-
(Optional) Use the drawing tools above the map to adjust the geofence perimeter or shape.
By default, the geofence is a 250-meter radius. You can draw custom shapes with up to 40 vertices. Vertices cannot be edited or removed individually; to make changes, you must redraw the shape.
-
(Optional) Select an Address Type:
-
Normal Geofence: Used for tracking entries and exits. Can support stop detection and routing analytics.
-
Yard: Trips without a driver in this geofence are annotated as unassigned yard moves for ELD compliance. Use only for ELD-exempt activity such as mechanics or fueling.
ELD-subject drivers must sign in and log their status. Assigned trips are not automatically annotated.
-
Risk Zone: Highlights high-risk areas in the Fleet Overview map (
). To view vehicles in these zones, use Sort > In Risk Zone. Risk Zones can also be used in notifications and alerts to trigger geofence-based alerting.
-
Alerts Only: Triggers alerts when a vehicle enters or exits the geofence but does not display in reports or Fleet Overview. These addresses are excluded from reports such as the Time on Site report.
-
-
(Optional) Assign Tags to organize addresses by function, location type, or business use.
-
(Optional) Exclude safety events from the Safety Inbox by selecting them under Safety Event Exclusions.
Note
In-cab alerts still play but are marked as dismissed in the Safety Inbox.
-
(Optional) Assign a Camera Recording mode:
-
Full Recording Mode: (Default) All cameras are recording.
-
Driver Privacy Mode: Disables inward-facing camera recording. All other cameras continue to record.
-
Complete Privacy Mode: Disables recording for all cameras.
-
Default to Vehicle Setting: Uses the recording mode defined in the vehicle’s default configuration. This address will not override it.
-
-
(Optional) Add descriptive Notes for internal use.
-
Select Save to create the address.
After creating an address, you can edit or delete it from the address row in Addresses/Geofences (Settings icon ( ) > Fleet):
-
Edit: Modify settings configured during address creation, such as the geofence shape, address type, or camera behavior. Changes to an address can temporarily affect reporting, including the Time on Site Report.
-
Remove: Permanently delete the address from your organization. Removing an address affects reporting and alerts that rely on address-based geofences. For example, the address is removed from report filters and no longer links to detailed views in the Time on Site Report. Any alerts configured for that geofence will stop triggering.
