The Samsara dashboard supports remote Video Retrieval Process from all generations of dash cams and multi-cameras. After the engine is turned off, multi-cameras upload an image to the Trip Timeline every few minutes. By default, multi-camera systems remain on and continue to record footage for 30 minutes after the vehicle engine is off.
If your vehicle is equipped with a CMVR Samsara Multi-Camera, you can reduce or extend the recording time after the engine is off (see Configure Multi-Camera Off Uptime).
To modify the multi-camera recording time after the vehicle engine is turned off, perform the following workflow:

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

From the Devices settings, select Configuration > Cameras.

Locate the Multi-Camera Engine Off Uptime settings.

Configure the Duration (0 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes (Default), 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours).
If you would like to set a custom time option (up to 5 hours), contact your account representative.
