If the auto-detected speed limit in the Samsara dashboard looks incorrect, you can override it. You can edit speed limits from a speeding event, the Asset Speed Graph, or the Map Editor.
Overrides take effect right away but only apply to future trips. They will not change reports or speed graphs for completed trips.
If a road segment is updated and assigned a new ID due to reclassification or layout updates, your override may stop applying to this segment and you will need to set it again.
You need a standard admin role or a custom role with Map Editor permissions across the entire organization to override speed limits.
Administrators with tag-based access cannot apply overrides because changes affect the whole organization. If a tag-based administrator needs this access, create and assign a custom role with Map Editor permissions for the entire organization.
