To ensure your mobile device users and the devices themselves are safe in the field, you can configure safety settings. With policy safety settings, you can enable and select a focus mode for enrolled devices to use. Currently, only motion configurations are available as a focus mode. After you enable a motion configuration, a device will activate the In-Motion screen with the selected motion configuration settings when a vehicle is in motion. In addition, you can require device passwords in the policy safety settings.

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

Before you configure safety settings, Enroll Your Organization and ensure the Samsara Launcher App is installed.
Important
Focus mode requires you to enable auto-connection to Vehicle Gateway (VG) hotspots in your Wi-Fi settings or manually connect the device to the VG hotspot.

In MEM, select Policy.

On the Displays tab, configure the Safety settings:

Home Screen: Select a Home Screen template.
This template specifies home screen display settings including the text that is displayed on the top of the home screen of your managed devices.

Focus Mode: Select a Motion Configuration template.
This template specifies the conditions under which a In-Motion Screen displays and defines the screen source. You can use the default which uses the Samsara Launcher Driving Screen and associated thresholds, or you can Customize a Motion Configuration Template.

In the top right, Publish to <X> devices. Samsara will deliver the policy update to any associated devices as soon as they connect to the internet.
