The Utility Service Vehicle (USV) Exemption helps you track work hours if you alternate between exempt and non-exempt operations, such as for utility service work. This exemption applies to the whole day.
You can claim this exemption in the Samsara Driver App. When this exemption is claimed, DOT logs show the entire day as Off Duty, while administrator and driver logs continue to display detailed work hours for transparency. Additionally, your Daily Log will:

Label Your On Duty Shift: A Utility Service Vehicle label displays beneath each On Duty log where the exemption was claimed.

Automatically Leave a Remark: A Utility Service Vehicle remark automatically appears in the Remarks section.

Show the Claimed Exemption: The Utility Service Vehicle exemption appears in the Exemptions section.
