When reviewing the Vehicle Gateway (VG) Device Health Report for device status, use the following table and troubleshooting actions to understand and address VG health issues. For guidance on managing reports and proactive monitoring across all device types, refer to the Device Health Report.
Use the following table to review VG health statuses, understand what each status means, and access the troubleshooting steps when issues require action.

The Vehicle Gateway (VG) has not been detected for at least 24 hours.
Note
The Not Detected health status was previously the Inactive health status in the Device Health Report.

Verify that the cable connections are secure between the VG and the diagnostic port.

Reboot the gateway: unplug the VG from the vehicle for 10 min, reconnect to the vehicle, and then take the vehicle on a 5 min drive.

Review the VG install instructions for your cable type to ensure the VG is correctly installed.

Confirm the vehicle battery has charge. Jump-start the vehicle, if necessary.
The Vehicle Gateway (VG) is not receiving power. When the VG loses power, it cannot capture or relay data. This status is based on telemetry that confirms the device is currently offline.

Verify that the cable connections are secure between the VG and the diagnostic port.

Review the VG install instructions for your cable type to ensure the VG is correctly installed.
The VIN is missing from the Vehicle Settings or the Vehicle Gateway (VG) cannot read the vehicle's VIN or access its data.

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

From within Devices, select Devices > Gateways.

Locate the gateway from the list. To narrow the scope of the results, Search for the gateway or filter the options by Tags or Attributes.

On the device row, click the more actions ( ••• ) menu > Settings.

Edit the VIN and Save to apply the changes.
The Vehicle Gateway (VG) is missing diagnostics information and may not be ELD compliant.

Install the exchanged hardware using the VG install instructions for your cable type.

Confirm that the device shows a Healthy status in the Gateway report.
