App Access: To access the CARB Clean Truck Check Manager, users must either be a full admin or have a custom role as an organizational admin that includes permissions to view CARB CTC Manager located within API & Integrations.
Launch a data collection for enrolled fleet vehicles:
-
If you are not already in the app, launch the CARB CTC App:
-
Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
In the Organization settings, select Apps.
-
Go to Enabled Apps and click Manage.
-
-
From the Enrolled tab, locate or search for a vehicle.
-
To launch a data collection event now or at a later date, locate or search for the vehicle from the list and click Launch on the vehicle row.
-
To initiate data collection immediately, click Launch now.
Data collection will occur during the next ENGINE ON event. Allow 30 seconds before turning the vehicle's engine on. Keep vehicle in idle until data collection is complete (typically 10 minutes).
-
To schedule a data collection at a later date, select Schedule collection for later, choose a future date and click Schedule launch.
Data collection for scheduled tests will occur during the first ENGINE ON event after midnight on the day of schedule.
-
Ensure the vehicle meets Ready State requirements for data collection to occur:
-
Vehicle stationary
-
Vehicle ENGINE ON
-
Vehicle remains in idle state for 10 min
Note
If a vehicle fails to meet ready state criteria, the Vehicle Gateway will continue attempting to collect the required data each time a vehicle is turned on until a successful data collection is captured. A total of 10 data capture events will be attempted before the VG times out and requires the user to re-initiate a new data capture event.

To review transmissions, see Statuses and Completed Data Collections.
From the CARB CTC app, you can view the status and history for all data transmissions. The status of transmissions for all vehicles is summarized on the Enrolled tab. After a transmission has been launched, you can review the transmission report from the vehicle options (more actions ( ••• ) menu > View Collection History).
The following table describes the data transmission for each collection status type:
Status |
Status Summary |
---|---|
Not Scheduled |
Vehicle does not have an upcoming data collection event. |
Complete |
Vehicle achieves a Complete status after successfully completing a data capture event. This status remains active for three months starting from the beginning of the month of the most recent test. After this period, the vehicle’s status will change to Not Scheduled. NoteA Complete status does not indicate a Pass or Fail result. This status only confirms that the vehicle gateway performed a full scan. The Pass or Fail determination is made exclusively by CARB. |
Error |
Indicates one of the following scenarios occurred:
|
Pending |
The data capture event is currently in progress. |
Scheduled |
A data capture event is scheduled for a future date. |
Pass |
CARB returned a Pass result for the data capture event. |
Fail |
CARB returned a Fail result for the data capture event. |
