If Malfunction and Diagnostic Events occur, the error displays within the Hours of Service (HoS) tile in the Samsara Driver App.
An Unidentified Driving Event happens when a Vehicle Gateway records over 30 minutes of driving time without an assigned driver in the last 24 hours. When drivers receive an Unidentified Driving Event, this event will be associated with the vehicle that is currently assigned to the driver in the Samsara Driver App. Admins should review the Unassigned HOS Report for that vehicle and review and assign the unassigned segments to the correct driver.
This event resolves after the total unassigned time for that vehicle is below 15 minutes for the last 7 days for US events, and 14 days for Canada events. When these conditions are met, all other active Unidentified Driving Events for that vehicle are resolved as well. When an unidentified event is resolved, drivers may notice a green checkmark on the event.
When an unidentified event is resolved, the event remains visible in the Samsara Driver App until a certain number of days has passed. Drivers can click the event to see the date when the event will be removed.
