Enable GPS-based spend controls and calculate your fuel efficiency effortlessly by syncing Samsara data to Coast.
The integration includes the following features:

Decline fuel transactions based on location data

Automatic odometer data collection at every fuel transaction

Vehicle data sync, including GPS and odometer readings
Coast built the integration and will assist with deployments as needed. Follow the steps below to get started. If there are any issues, please contact Coast Support.

In the Coast portal, go to the Integrations page.

Click install on the Samsara tile.

Enter your Samsara login information to authorize data access for Coast.

Select the vehicles you want to import and sync with Coast.

To start declining transactions:

Update your policies to decline transactions happening far away from the vehicle.

Fuel transactions happening more than 200m from the vehicle will be automatically declined.

To send fuel purchases, perform the following workflow:

From Samsara Apps (Settings ( ) > Organization > Apps), select Coast.

Select the Samsara tile.

When prompted for a Coast API Key, click the link in the blue instructions box to open API Keys in a new tab.

In the new tab, create a new API Key called
Samsara
and paste it into Samsara Apps page. -
Follow the instructions to create a Samsara API Token and then copy and paste it into the Coast app to complete the connection.

In the Samsara integration, enable the Auto Sync Fuel Purchases setting.

To prevent fuel transactions if a vehicle is too far from the merchant, perform the following workflow:

From the Coast app and on your selected Coast spend policies, enable Decline fuel transactions when the vehicle is far away from the merchant.
Fuel transactions that occur 200 meters or more from where the vehicle is located will be automatically declined. Declined transactions are visible in a map on Coast so you can see the relative locations of the vehicle and merchant.
