The integration with the Doran tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) enables critical alerts for drivers and dispatchers and presents real-time tire temperature and pressure for tractors and trailers in the Samsara dashboard.
The integration includes the following features:
-
TPMS stats (temperature and pressure) for tractors and trailers which update every 10 minutes if there is no alert condition
-
Support for both married trailers and drop and hook trailers using a Doran transceiver
-
Ability to configure Samsara alerts, based on Doran critical and cautionary tire fault codes for temperature and pressure, for both dispatchers and drivers using the Samsara Driver App.
-
Doran: Doran TPMS 360HD and/or 360SL systems with J1939 data output installed on their trucks/trailers
-
Samsara: Requires RP1226 or 9-pin diagnostic plug for CAN connection for TPMS data to flow correctly
Before you can begin receiving Doran alerts in the Samsara dashboard you must install all hardware including Samsara gateways and Doran gateways and sensors. After confirming your hardware deployment, your Samsara representative enables the integration.
Depending on your hardware setup, you must also install the Doran app and pair the devices in the Samsara dashboard:
-
Tractors: Doran tire pressure and temperature readings will sync with Samsara automatically when the Doran integration is enabled. Therefore, no additional pairing is required.
-
Trailers:
-
Trailers using the Doran 360HD system will sync with Samsara automatically. Therefore, no additional pairing is required.
-
Trailers using the Doran 360SL system require manual pairing. Pair an Asset Individually or Pair Assets in Bulk
-
After you complete your deployment, you can set up alerts for Tire Fault Codes as desired. Follow the Alerts 2.0 workflow in Alert Configuration to name the alert, define triggers and set actions, including Notify admins and Notify drivers.
-
Activate and then install the Samsara gateway on your vehicle or trailer.
-
Reach out to your Samsara representative to request that the Doran integration is enabled for your Samsara environment. If you do not have a Samsara representative, contact support@samsara.com.
