In order to grant NISC access to Samsara data, SwingDev must receive a Samsara API Token from the customer. Follow these steps to complete the process:
-
- Log into your Samsara dashboard and navigate to Settings > API Tokens
- Create an API Token within the Samsara dashboard named "NISC Integration" (learn about how to create an API token here)
- If you are using Tags, grant Tag Access (default is “Entire Organization”)
- Select the following Scopes for this integration:
- Vehicles category
- Read Vehicle Statistics
- Vehicles category
-
Send the API token to SwingDev: samsara-team@swing.dev
-
Provide a list of Samsara vehicles to your NISC rep: the unique Samsara Vehicle ID will be used as the “Map Code” or "AVL ID" in NISC. (You can download your list of vehicles, including the unique Samsara Vehicle ID, under Settings > Devices > More Actions > Upload CSV > Click on "Gateways List". Column A will contain the Vehicle ID. Note that the report includes a "G" in front of the 15-digit number; this "G" should be removed, leaving the Samsara Vehicle ID that NISC will use for AVL ID. If you need help getting the unique Samsara Vehicle ID, ask your Samsara rep or email support@samsara.com.)
-
NISC will complete vehicle ID mapping in their software
-
SwingDev will enable the integration to start sharing vehicle position data with NISC
