After you enable and configure Automatic Driver Recognition (Camera ID), you can train Camera ID by assigning captured dash cam images to specific drivers from the Camera ID Training page. This process helps the system match future images with greater accuracy and supports automatic driver assignment once enough quality data has been collected.
Unassigned images automatically surface in the Camera ID Training interface, organized by collection date and vehicle.
To review and assign driver images:
-
Navigate to Safety (
) > Camera ID Training > Unassigned.
-
Use Group by Vehicle or filters to organize the unassigned image list; filter by tag, vehicle, or date to narrow the images displayed.
-
Select one or more unassigned images using the checkboxes; use the top checkbox to select all images on the page. Up to 20 images are shown at a time; if more are available in the selected date range, you’ll be prompted to load and assign additional segments.
-
Click Assign Selected and choose the correct driver.
It’s recommended that you assign at least 10 images to each driver. Use images with different lighting, angles, and appearances to improve recognition accuracy.
-
Review assigned images in the Assigned tab of the Camera ID Training page; select any image and click Delete to remove incorrect assignments.
-
If a known driver continues to show in the Unassigned tab, review their assigned images.
This can happen when the similarity between the new image and the driver's assigned images is not high enough to trigger automatic assignment.
-
To check overall training progress or manage assigned images across your fleet, see Review Camera ID Training Progress.
