To add a tag, navigate to Settings > Tags, then click "Create a tag". Name the tag, add vehicles and drivers, and click save.
This will allow you to zero in on the performance of individual teams, such as fuel, safety, or route performance.
Viewing Tags in the Dashboard
You can view tagged vehicles and drivers in Samsara Fleet Overview. Filter by the Tag name to view just that tag, or click on multiple tags to view multiple teams.
Tags are also powerful when used in Samsara Reports. Use them to view the performance of individual teams, such as fuel, safety, or route performance.
Samsara Admins can use tags to give their users access to team-specific information.
For example, many Samsara-managed fleets have multiple divisions, each with their own division manager and dispatcher. You can use tags to separate divisions and give division-specific employees access to just their division. The Tagged Admins will only see the information for their vehicles and drivers.
Give tag-specific access to admins by navigating to Settings > Users & Roles then click, Invite Users and enter the user's email, role, and access.
Use nesting to create sub-categories within your tags. For example, under a wider 'Distribution' group (also known as the Parent tag), create more specific (Child) tags for subcategories (such as regions) that fall under Distribution.
Create a nested (child) tag by navigating to Settings > Tags > Create a Tag. Name the tag and select any appropriate Drivers and Devices. Check "Nest this tag under" then select the parent tag in the dropdown below.
Once successfully nesting one or more tags, you will see them compiled together on the Tags page.
