General Settings

During your account setup, you customize the dashboard for your organization and the experience of your products. These settings can be modified at any time in your Samsara dashboard from Settings ( ) > Organization > General.

You can configure any of the following organizational settings:

Organization Information

Settings that define your organization.

Drivers will enter the Organization Name that you specify along with the Driver Fleet ID (which you can find in the Settings > Driver App section) every time they log into the Samsara Driver App.

You can also display the Logo for your organization on the Samsara dashboard.

Language and Region

Locale: Determines the unit of measure for distance, fuel consumption, and currency throughout the dashboard.
Timezone: Default time zone throughout the dashboard and for the Samsara Driver App. You can override the Home Terminal default time zone, if needed, in the individual driver profile.
Language: Default language to use when new users are added to Samsara.

If your users operate in regions or have other localization preferences, you can Manage Multiple Regions in Your Organization.

Connection

Internet connectivity settings for your devices. Samsara provides 4G LTE cellular connectivity (with fallback to 3G) from AT&T to vehicle and asset gateways. You can extend cellular connectivity to other corporate or driver-provided devices by configuring a hotspot and specify a preferred Wi-Fi network for the gateway .

Hotspot: To allow drivers to connect additional devices such as tablets, laptops, and mobile devices to the Wi-Fi hotspot on the gateway, enable the Hotspot. You can choose any name or password for the Wi-Fi network that you would like, and you can change this at any time.
Wi-Fi Networks: To supply internet connectivity to your gateway from your corporate yard, connect it to your Wi-Fi Networks. Specify the Network Name, Encryption Type and either the passphrase or credentials required for authentication.
