To use only camera-related features, you can purchase a Safety license. In Safety deployments you still use a Vehicle Gateway (VG), but do not have a VG license. This license entitles you to use safety and camera features but restricts access to other areas in the dashboard. Safety license features include:

Without a Live Streaming license, each CM3x device includes five minutes of Live Streaming per month. Any unused minutes do not rollover to the next month and cannot be transferred or pooled to another device.
By default, the CM33 and CM34 Samsara Dash Cams include up to 1080p image resolution. With the Dash Cam Plus license, you can enhance the video quality with 2K footage resolution or extend the storage capacity of your default resolution. For more information, see Dash Cam Plus Add-on License.
Access to the full set of fleet features requires a license for the Samsara platform. The Cameras and Safety License does not include:
