Impact of a Privacy Button on VG LED Indicators

When the Privacy Button is used, the LED indicators on the Vehicle Gateway (VG) provide visual feedback that reflects the system's current state and tracking activity. The table below describes how the LED behaves in different VG states while the Privacy Button is engaged.

VG State

LED Behavior

VG online

  • LED remains on when tracking is active.

  • LED turns off when tracking is disabled via the Privacy Button.

Trip restarting

  • LED on the Privacy Button blinks for one minute when a new trip is detected.

    If the button is pressed within this one-minute window, tracking does not resume and the LED turns off.

VG asleep

  • With moderate power, the LED blinks green once for 20 ms every 2 seconds.

  • With low power (after 7 days of moderate power), the LED blinks green twice for 20 ms every 2 seconds.
