To create custom reports, you must be a Full Admin, Standard Admin, or have a custom role with permission to create custom reports.
-
From the Samsara dashboard, select Reports > Custom Reports.
-
Click the New Report button
-
Select a dataset and click Use Dataset to create a custom report with the default fields for the dataset. See Report Datasets and Default Fields for more information about each dataset.
-
Enter a name for the custom report. A name is required to save and share the report. This is the name that appears as the title for your report on the custom reports landing page and when you share it.
-
Select a time range for the report. You can select a time range as far back as your data allows.
-
Customize the report layout including adding, removing, and rearranging columns, as well as renaming columns. To customize a report column, click the more actions menu (…) button and select an option from the menu. You can drag and drop columns to rearrange the order that they appear on the report.
Note
You can add up to 15 columns per custom report.
-
Click Run Report to load data for your custom report. Each time you reconfigure the report, you will need to re-run the report.
-
Click Save to save your custom report.
Notes
-
Larger reports may take several minutes to load. If the report has too much data, the report may not successfully run. Try adjusting or removing filters, adjusting the date range, or removing columns from the report.
-
Units of measure in custom reports will always be based on your organization's locale and not changed with user settings.
