A form and manner violation can occur when a driver does not complete required fields in their record of duty status (RODS). To learn more about the required fields, read the regulation for Driver's Record of Duty Status. The Samsara electronic logging device (ELD) system detects drivers at risk of citations due to missing Shipping ID or Trailer Name in their logs.
The Form and Manner Report in the Samsara dashboard flags instances where a driver enters a driving status without providing the Shipping ID or Trailer Name. To resolve an instance in the Form and Manner Report, the driver must enter the Shipping ID and Trailer Name within the same calendar day. This report helps fleet managers proactively identify and address compliance risks before citations occur.
