An active fault is a fault that is currently present as indicated by a fault code. You cannot clear an active fault without changing or fixing an asset part. To help you and your team identify the urgency of the situation and quickly address any critical problems, you can use the Active Faults filter feature in Overview ( ).
To filter for an active fault from Overview ( ), select Active Faults in the More drop-down menu. This enables you to filter specifically for assets that have active detected faults.
When a VG or AG detects an active fault, it displays in red text on the defective asset in the Overview list. If multiple unique faults are detected, the sum total is displayed.
To view more detailed information, click the asset in the list.
Vehicles, equipment, and trailers can produce faults, including but not limited to: engine faults, ABS, ATIS, and power faults. Fault data is dependent on hardware configuration, such as cable-enabled features like ABS. You can stay informed of fault codes in real-time for trailers and vehicles through notifications. To learn more about fault code notifications, see Fault Code Alerts.
