Digital forms are custom forms made by your organization for you to complete through the Samsara Driver App or Samsara dashboard. Digital forms can be any day-to-day workflow you might have completed on paper, such as safety inspections, equipment inspections, or incident reports.
To complete and submit a form, select a workflow:
If you need to pause or delay the completion of a digital form and complete it at a later time, you can save your progress. Completion of a digital form in the Samsara Driver App enables you to save so that you can edit a form at a later time and submit it when you are ready.
To access and complete a digital form within the app, perform the following workflow:

From the Samsara Driver App, tap Forms.

Select Start a Form.

Choose the name of the form you need to complete.

(Optional) If the form you selected includes the option to use AI to auto-fill your form, find the media field with the Extract and Autofill capability, and Add Media, such as a photo or document, matching the field description.

Select Extract and Autofill.
The AI will analyze your file and automatically populate fields with data from it.

Review and edit the data populated by the AI.

Fill out the empty fields, or select the appropriate responses for each item.

If there are is table to fill out, select + Add Row.

Complete the fields.
-
Save.
-
Select + Add Row as needed.

If there is an item issue, select Add a Note on the item and record the issue.
To avoid duplicate issues, the Samsara Driver App also displays current known issues for an asset. For more information on issues, see Report an Issue through Connected Workflows.

If a signature field is required, Sign the box with your signature. Then tap Done to return to the form.

If an Approver signature is required, tap Add Person and select the person to review and approve your form.

Submit the form if it is complete.
Otherwise, to save a draft of a digital form to complete at a later time:

Tap the blue back arrow at the top left corner of the form.

When prompted to save your progress, tap Save.
To resume or delete a saved digital form draft, perform the following workflow:

To access and complete an assigned digital form within the dashboard perform the following workflow:

From the Samsara dashboard, navigate to Forms (
) > Submissions.

Select My Assignments to display any digital forms assigned to you.
If you need to complete a digital form within the dashboard and it was not assigned to you, see Complete a Digital Form in the Samsara Dashboard.

Click Start on the assignment that you would like to complete.

Fill out the fields, or select the appropriate responses for each inspection item.
When needed, you can select a follow up action such as + Add note or + Add Issue and include a photo.
To avoid duplicate issues, the dashboard also displays currently known issues for an asset.

Submit the form when finished.
Once submitted, the form is moved from My Assignments to All Submissions, where it can reviewed.

To access and complete a digital form within the dashboard, perform the following workflow:

From the Samsara dashboard, navigate to Forms (
) > Submissions.

Select + Start Form in the top right corner to display a list of all possible forms you can complete.

Select a form.

Fill out the fields, or select the appropriate responses for each inspection item.
When needed, you can select a follow up action such as + Add note or + Add Issue and include a photo.
To avoid duplicate issues, the dashboard also displays currently known issues for an asset.

Save the form to submit it.

The option to save digital forms to draft is a feature only available to the Samsara Driver App. Instead, you can Edit a form, which overwrites all previous versions of the form when saved:

Select a Form from the Submissions dashboard.

Click Edit in the upper right-hand corner.

Make any necessary changes.
All forms and form fields are editable, and all changes will be permanent upon saving. It is not possible to revert back to a previous version of the form when saved. Fields that are required cannot be left empty.

Save.
The form is now updated with your changes.
