Certifying your logs can help keep your records compliant and prevents potential issues during inspections. This workflow is important for drivers and fleet operators who use electronic logging devices (ELDs) to track Hours of Service.
To certify a log, use the following workflow:
-
From the Hours of Service view, tap Daily Log (
).
-
Tap the arrow to select the log date you’d like to certify.
-
Tap Certify and Submit.
-
Read the certification statement and tap Agree - Submit.
-
To edit a certified log see Edit an HOS Log.
After you certify a log, you can still edit it, but you cannot un-certify it.
An uncertified log alert displays in the Samsara Driver App when you sign in or sign out of the app if you have any logs that haven’t been certified. The app prompts you automatically so you can quickly review and certify any missing logs before continuing your day.
Note
If drivers have uncertified logs dated before their first active day, administrators can remove the certification requirement for those earlier logs from the Samsara dashboard (Settings () > Compliance). For more information, see Customizable Compliance Settings.
To certify logs, use the following workflow:
-
To review uncertified logs, select Review and certify.
-
Review all log dates listed.
-
To certify all logs, select Agree - Submit.
