The OAUTH2 token is a new security feature from Samsara that ensures the integrity and security of your telematics data. It grants National Interstate Insurance Company read-only access to your data, in accordance with the Data Sharing Agreement you previously signed.
Through the National Interstate Company AER Program, Safety Claims and Litigation Services (SCLS) offers a $10 per vehicle per month savings to policyholders who meet and maintain specific program and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements.
These KPIs are reviewed quarterly, and continued eligibility depends on compliance with the terms outlined in your individual contract.

Samsara: OAUTH2 Token
To enable the data connection between Samsara and National Interstate Insurance Company:

Sign in to the Samsara dashboard as an admin.
The OAuth process requires you to be signed in to Samsara to complete subsequent steps.

Go to https://authorization-grant.gaig.com/?vendor=samsara&division=nivl.

Follow the prompts and complete the following:

Enter your Samsara credentials

Authorize the OAUTH2 token

Review permissions:

The app requests real-only access (No write permission are requested)

For tag selection, choose Entire Organization. Do not select or restrict specific tags.

Click Allow to complete the process.
Do not refresh the page during this process as it can cause errors. Once completed, a secure and unique token will automatically transmit to National Interstate Insurance Company and no further action is needed.
