To customize the appearance of your device home screen, you can configure the following in a device home screen template:

The text that displays at the top of the screen while the vehicle is stopped. For example, you could list your company name and contact information, or emergency support contact information.

Whether to display the logo for your organization at the top of the screen while the vehicle is stopped.

The size of the app icons on the device to improve accessibility both while the vehicle is in motion or stopped.

Custom wallpaper to display on the device home screen and lock screen while the vehicle is stopped.
If you have different device requirements, you can configure separate templates and attach them to policies that apply to specific groups of devices.
To configure a Device Home Screen template:

Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.

In MEM, select Displays > Home & Lock Screen.

+ Add a new template.

Define the template settings:

Template name: Provide a descriptive name to identify the template in the Samsara dashboard. The name must be 60 or fewer characters.

Logo display: (Requires launcher version 2.2.0 or above) Choose the desired preference for displaying an image at the top of the home screen while the vehicle is stopped. By default, no logo is displayed but you can choose to display the Organization logo if you have already uploaded one to the Samsara dashboard when you configure your dashboard for the first time. You can also upload a Custom logo in either PNG or JPEG format.

App icon size: (Requires launcher version 2.2.0 or above) Select the size of icons to appear on the device home screen. The icon size applies to apps both while the vehicle is stopped and while the vehicle is in motion.
Each size corresponds to a limit to the number of apps that can display on the home screen: Small (up to 25 apps), Medium (Default; up to 16 apps), or Large (up to 9 apps). If the number of apps on the home screen is greater than the maximum allowed by the icon size, the excess overflowing apps will not display. However, overflow apps are accessible on the device in the full app library by selecting the all apps button at the bottom of the home screen.

Display text: Enter the text you want the Samsara Launcher App to display when the vehicle is stopped.

Wallpaper display: (Requires launcher version 2.4.0 or above) Upload a PNG or JPEG image file (up to 1MB in size) to display a custom wallpaper on the device home screen and lock screen while the vehicle is stopped. The custom wallpaper will not display during the focus mode to minimize distractions when the vehicle is moving.

Preview the template settings. You can choose to preview in Portrait or Landscape orientation.

Save your changes when finished.

Configure Password Requirements for Devices to use the template in your device policy.
