Samsara is instigating rotations for our service provider certificate and this effects all customers that use SAML based Single Sign On (SSO) through our broker. If you're using auth0 and have to migrate to our broker, you will be migrated to the newest certificate automatically with no action needed on your part.
While the identity provider (IdP) certificate is more critical to the security of your SSO connection, the service provider certificate is also important, and rotating certificates periodically is considered best practice. Certificate rotation limits the active lifetime of a certificate and reduces the risk of compromise. Dependent on your IdP and connection configuration, your IdP might not check our service provider certification, in which case no action is required.
If you need to manually migrate to the new service provider certificate or temporarily revert your certificate in the event of configuration issues, perform the following workflow:
-
Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
-
Select Single Sign-On.
-
Select Migrate to latest SP cert to enable the new certificate for your connection.
Driver connections and user connections need to be updated separately.
If you need to revert your certificate, select Revert to previous SP cert. This option is only available if you have already migrated to the latest SP certificate.
Note
All service provider certifications will be migrated to our newest certificate on March 31, 2026, and any reversion to a previous certificate is temporary.
-
In your IdP, update your connection settings and ensure you connection is configured to trust the new certificate if your IdP checks service provider certificate validity.
