The Performance Overview is a centralized hub crafted to optimize the management of driver performance. This feature is available for customers in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Mexico.
The hub empowers supervisors to undertake precise actions and monitor the progress in achieving driving performance objectives, thus improving daily operations and demonstrating tangible return on investment. It is particularly useful for managers of both small fleets where supervisors may have limited bandwidth to review performance and of extensive fleets where managers are in pursuit of an effective, data-driven strategy to elevate driving safety, coaching rates, and driver engagement. The Performance Overview operates independently of specific hardware and integrates seamlessly with the Samsara Driver App user interface.
The Performance Overview offers a comprehensive snapshot of driver performance metrics, key insights, and recommended actions based on data from the past 30 days. You’ll only see the data you’re authorized to access, along with the actions available to you. To explore this information, click Workforce from the left navigation panel.
The Performance Overview has the following key elements:

Safety Score: Showcases the latest metrics on driver safety performance, inclusive of temporal trends and AI-powered insights with practical recommendations.

Driver Efficiency/Eco-Driving Score: Evaluates diverse driving behaviors influencing fuel efficiency, offering recent scores and guidance for enhancement.

Drivers to Recognize: Spotlights drivers who have reached significant benchmarks or shown exemplary driving practices.

Drivers to Review: Lists drivers recommended for review based on safety and efficiency metrics, proposing clear steps for supervisory action.
Recommended actions can include:

Send to Coaching: Displays the Driver Review where you can see when a driver has untriaged Safety Events or Idling Events. This gives you direct context on recent driver behavior within the Performance Overview page.

Hover over each event to preview footage and confirm the coachable behavior. You can also expand events with video into the full video player.

Use the more actions ( ••• ) menu to Dismiss individual events or view their trip details in the Inbox.

If a coach is assigned, the blue Send events to coaching button bulk-sends all events directly to manager-led coaching.

Send Message: If a driver has an open coaching session, you can send a customized message to the drivers in the Samsara Driver App to remind the driver to complete manager-led coaching.
After the recommended action has been taken, the driver will reappear on this page if any of the following occur:

The driver has new, untriaged events.

Safety Events were added to an existing manager-led coaching session within the past 14 days.

A new manager-led coaching session was created within the past 14 days.

Coaching Timeliness & Effectiveness: Monitors coaching sessions and recommends interventions to refine driver behaviors and the effectiveness of coaching.

Training Timeliness: Highlights drivers with overdue training and provides communication tools for sending timely reminders.
Upon activation of the Performance Overview for your account the following steps to leverage its capabilities:

Select Workforce from the left navigation panel to view the Performance Overview page.

Examine the metrics, insights, and recommended actions related to safety, efficiency, and coaching.

Apply the filtering options in the left-hand side panel to customize the data display according to specific tags or subtags.

Interact with the actionable insights by dispatching messages, appointing training, or acknowledging drivers from within the Performance Overview page.

If functionalities such as messaging or training assignments are not visible, verify that you possess the necessary write permissions.
