Connect your Rivian vehicles and telemetry data (location, engine diagnostics, etc.) to the Samsara platform seamlessly with the Rivian API integration.
When connected, Samsara listens to the Rivian cloud for new telemetry data and ingests it as it comes in. In general, each data signal is sent to Samsara from Rivian at a frequency between 10 to 60 seconds, dependent on the data point pulled. In particular, location data is sampled and sent at every 10 seconds.
Data points pulled are:
-
Telematics / Engine Diagnostics:
-
Location: GNSS position
-
Speed
-
Odometer
-
Battery Voltage
-
State of Charge
-
Charging Status
-
Energy Consumed
-
Power Mode
-
Tire Pressure
-
Seatbelt Status (Driver & Passenger)
-
-
Rivian: None
-
Samsara: Grant data-sharing access. For more information, see Integrate with Partner Applications.
Samsara built the integration and will assist with deployments as needed. Follow the steps below to get started. If there are any issues, please contact Samsara Support.
-
Send a list of your Rivian vehicle VINs to your Samsara representative for Samsara and Rivian approval.
-
After your Samsara representative confirms approval, sign in to your Samsara dashboard.
-
Select the Settings icon (
) at the bottom of your Fleet menu and then click Apps.
-
Search for and then select Rivian
-
Allow data-sharing access.
When you accept this data sharing agreement, you confirm you do own the vehicles that you will connect through this integration.
-
In the Rivian app, select Add Vehicles and add the VINs you would like to activate in Samsara.
After you activate the vehicles into Samsara, this information then populates in all aspects of the dashboard. Any filter that enables you to filter for Vehicles will also display Rivian-connected vehicles.
For issues related to the integration, contact Samsara Support.
