The Health Graph helps you gain insight into power sources for your assets, such as trailers or equipment. If you experience power issues with assets, the Health Graph enables you to troubleshoot, identify, and monitor power connection issues, as well as streamline maintenance and resolve problems at scale. With the Health Graph you can also access historical data to view when and where electrical failures occurred, and to see which systems were down for powered AG gateway entities.
The Health Graph is visible over the asset detail map (Overview ( ) > Assets) of any asset with a powered AG attached to it through the Graph data drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner.
The name of the graph is dependent on the configuration type of the asset in the Samsara dashboard:
-
Trailer: Graph data selection is Trailer Health.
-
Equipment: Graph data selection is Equipment Health.
-
Uncategorized: Graph data selection is Asset Health.
The graphs provide historical power supply data of the powered AG gateways. The date selector can be used to view past history. Use the bar below the graph to select an even smaller time frame for additional detail:
ABS Indicators are available to assets in the US, Canada, and Mexico. For BPLC code-equipped AG52 and AG53 units that are capable of reporting ABS events, the Trailer Health Graph displays when the ABS lamp of a trailed is turned on. This data is kept historically and can be referenced as needed.
Graphs display labels that indicate the power source. Labels vary based on which cable and gateway type is installed with the unit.
The following table describes the definitions of the graph fields on the dashboard based on the corresponding configurations:
Graph Label |
Description |
Asset Type + Cable Type |
---|---|---|
ABS Power |
Primary Power is on or off |
|
Brake Label |
Secondary power is on or off |
|
ABS Lamp |
ABS Lamp is on or off |
|
Running Lights |
Secondary Power is on or off |
BPWR cable (AG46P, AG26, AG52, AG53) |
Primary Power |
Primary power is on or off |
|
Secondary Power |
Secondary power is on or off |
There are two types of graph displays depending on the type of asset gateway powering your asset.
For AG52 and AG53 units, the graphs displays two separate lines in different colors: one for the primary power source, such as ABS Power, and one for the secondary power source, such as Running Lights Power. If you hover over the lines the exact voltage is displayed for each power source. When a line is not visible it indicates that the voltage is below 0.
For AG26 and AG46p units, the graph displays one line when power is received from either the primary or secondary power source. The graph shows the supply voltage the system is using. When hovering over the graph line, the source of power is visible as Primary Power, Secondary Power, or Primary and Secondary Power. If Primary and Secondary Power is displayed, the system indicates the highest voltage of the two.
If only Secondary Power is displayed, this indicates a problem with the Primary Power connection:
