When you install the AG52 or AG53 Asset Gateway (AG) on your trailer using cable CBL-AG-BABS or CBL-AG-BPLC, you also gain real-time visibility to any activation of the trailer ABS fault lamp. If you experience issues during or after installation, reference the following topic to troubleshoot the issue.
If you experience intermittent trip history data, the symptom may be caused by a loss of power to the AG or ABS. To troubleshoot, first, obtain a voltmeter. Then use the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
-
To test the truck's power supply, disconnect the 7-way cable at the front of the trailer while keeping it connected to the truck.
-
On the 7-way cable from the truck, use the voltmeter to test the ABS power on the center pin.
-
If the voltmeter does not detect voltage greater than 9 volts, the truck may have a blown ABS fuse or a faulty ABS trailer electrical circuit. Consult with a trained professional for additional testing and resolution.
-
If the voltmeter detects voltage greater than 9 volts, reconnect the 7-way cable.
-
Locate and disconnect the Samsara cable from under the trailer.
-
Using the voltmeter, test pin B on the 5-pin trailer port.
-
If the voltmeter detects power at pin B, contact Support.
-
If the voltmeter does not detect power at pin B, open the junction box and test the connections for power.
-
Inspect the wires from the 7-way port to the 5-pin ABS port near the rear axle for damage or one or more disconnected wires. Connect or replace wires as appropriate.
-
If the issue persists, note the cable type and AG device info when you contact Support.
