To allow for innovation and keep customer data safe and secure, Samsara updates its system requirements for the mobile apps as needed to maintain an excellent customer experience. Read on to learn about our support lifecycle policy and see which types of mobile devices and app versions have recently reached, or will soon reach, the end of support. When a device is no longer supported, the driver will not be able to log in to the Samsara Driver App. If you're using any of the devices or versions listed, upgrade to continue using Samsara mobile applications on Android and iOS without interruption.
The Samsara Mobile Device Support Policy applies to all Samsara applications: Samsara Driver App, Samsara Fleet App, Samsara Sites App, Samsara Agent, Samsara Launcher, and Samsara Remote Support.
Samsara will review and make annual updates to this policy going forward in accordance with Google and Apple’s operating system (OS) release timelines. The next update to this policy is planned for November 2025.
We take security seriously at Samsara. As part of our overall guidelines, we recommend only using our mobile apps on devices using OS versions actively supported by Google and Apple for security patches. Our policy is set up to align with their security practices.

To ensure seamless functionality with our applications, we encourage you to consistently update your device to the latest available OS version.

Samsara offers a Device Policy Report as a complementary tool to device policy enforcement, designed for fleet administrators. Through the Samsara dashboard, you can generate this report to view the policy status, support status, and scheduled support status of devices that have been logged into by drivers within the past 30 days. This report helps you proactively monitor and update any devices that are non-compliant with the support policy. You can use the report to perform the following tasks:
-
View a list of devices used by drivers over the past 30 days along with their support statuses.
-
Filter devices that have scheduled support changes.
-
Export the details as a comma-separated values (CSV) file for further analysis or record-keeping.
The report is available on the Samsara dashboard in Reports > Mobile Device Support. For each mobile device, you can view the following details:
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Latest Driver |
Name of the driver that most recently used the Samsara Driver App. |
Device Name |
Name of the mobile device. |
OS |
Operating system version on the mobile device. |
Last Activity |
Date and time of the last reported activity on the device. |
Last Sign In |
Date and time that the driver last signed in to the Samsara Driver App. |

If known, this field displays the date when Samsara no longer provides full support for the OS version and the number of days leading up to this date. For more information, see Minimally Supported Devices. |
End of Support Scheduled |
If known, this field displays the date when Samsara no longer provides support for the OS version and the number of days leading up to this date. For details, see Unsupported Devices. |
