Samsara supports integration with Rexroth spreader controllers.
-
Ensure you have the correct Rexroth telematics cable.
The Rexroth GPS cable plugs into the AUX port on the bottom left of the display unit. If there isn’t a cable there, you will need to contact your Rexroth dealer to purchase either:
-
Rexroth part number R987400008 (recommended)
-
Rexroth part number R987376776. This cable requires an additional RS-232 male-to-male adapter which is not provided by Samsara (see Amazon for an example of the RS-232 adapter).
-
-
Connect the Samsara spreader cable to the Rexroth GPS cable.
Each cable model requires a specific male-to-male serial adapter. You can identify the correct adapter by the cable's serial number, which is printed on a white tape label near the point where the Rexroth cable connects to the spreader controller’s ACC port.
-
Cable serial number R987400008: Use a null adapter (orange male-to-male serial adapter) and connect it to the female side of the Rexroth telematics cable. The other side of the Samsara cable plugs into the Samsara Vehicle Gateway.
-
Cable serial number R987376776: Use a straight-through adapter (yellow male-to-male serial adapter) and connect it to the female side of the Rexroth telematics cable. The adapter is not included with the Samsara RS232 cable and must be purchased separately. The other side of the Samsara cable plugs into the Samsara Vehicle Gateway.
