[en] Once an admin configures the Vehicle Regulation Mode to Mixed-Use from the Samsara-DashboardSamsara dashboard, drivers of vehicles set to Mixed-Use can switch between Regulated Driving and Unregulated Driving directly from the Samsara Driver AppSamsara Driver App.
[en] This setting applies to vehicles that are typically not subject to the ELD mandate, but may become subject to the requirement under certain conditions, such as when a trailer is added and the total combined weight of the vehicle exceeds 10,001 pounds.
[en] Drivers can change the regulation mode for vehicles set to Mixed-Use by performing the following workflow in the Samsara Driver AppSamsara Driver App:

[en] From the home screen, tap HoS.

[en] Select the banner at the top of the Hours of Service view.
[en] The banner will display one of the following options:

[en] Unregulated

[en] Regulated

[en] Regulated Driving: Drive time will be logged when the vehicle is moving.

[en] Unregulated Driving: Drive time will not automatically be logged when the vehicle is moving.
