Samsara ID Card Readers |
The Samsara ID Card Reader utilizes RFID technology to enhance monitoring of drivers in your fleet, as well as student and passenger transit systems. It plugs into your Vehicle Gateway (model VG34 and later) and scans the ID cards provided to your users. For more information, see Install an ID Card Reader. |
Samsara ID Cards |
Each Samsara ID Card is equipped with a distinct identification number that is scanned when the card is tapped to the Samsara ID Card Reader. For more information about Samsara ID Cards, see ID Cards for Driver Assignment and ID Cards for Student Transit. |
Third-party ID Cards |
The Samsara ID Card Reader supports compatible third-party ID cards that are equipped with RFID. Similar to the Samsara ID Card, each third-party card contains a unique identification number that is scanned when the card is tapped to the reader. |
Samsara ID Tokens |
Unlike ID cards, Samsara ID Tokens are wearable key fobs that do not require a separate card reader. Instead, users can tap the token against a Vehicle Gateway (model VG34 and later). For more information, see Driver ID Tokens. |
Samsara QR Codes |
Users can scan a personalized QR code using a dual-facing Samsara Dash Cam, such as a CM32 or CM34, to assign themselves to the vehicle. For more information see Driver Assignment Using QR Codes. |
