When a vehicle engine is on but the vehicle is not moving, Samsara identifies this activity as idling. To help you reduce fuel spend related to idling, you can monitor idling events from the Idling Events report (Fuel & Energy ( ) > Idling).
By default, the report displays all idling events that occurred that day and updates every 6 hours; However, you can use the date selector to select an alternate date or date range. To further narrow the results scope, you can filter vehicles by Tags , Asset Name, or use the Search.
The Idling Summary provides information on the amount of fuel spent while idling, and the amount of time spent idling (in hours and minutes and also as a percent). These number adjust based on the selected time in the date selector. The summary also includes a visualization of idling time over the duration of the selected time period. Depending on the time period selected, aggregation can be by hour, day, or week.

For additional offline storage or archival, you can perform any of the following options from the more actions menu (...) on the Idling Events report:

Export: Select from any of the available download formats (comma separate values (CSV), XLSX, or PDF) or email formats (CSV or XLSX) and apply any additional filters, as needed.

Schedule Emailed Report: Send a reoccurring report to a contact in your contact book. For more information, see Schedule a Report.

Print: Save or print the current results.
